The American Society of Pension Actuaries (ASPA)The American Society of Pension Actuaries was founded in 1966 to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas, an avenue to continuing education, and a body for coordinated representation of the private pension system before the government. Its 3,800 members provide services to over 30 percent of the qualified retirement plans in the United States. The purpose of the society is to educate pension actuaries, consultants, administrators and other benefits professionals, and to preserve and enhance the private pension system as part of the development of a cohesive and coherent national retirement income policy.
